Error Code 43: Troubleshooting DisplayLink Driver

If you’re experiencing issues with your Portabl Slide, particularly the DisplayLink driver error code 43, please follow the procedure here below.
This issue is encountered on some Windows laptops, especially those running Windows 11 or using Surface Pro devices, due to limitations set by the manufacturers on USB port power. The Portabl Slide works seamlessly on a single USB port with almost all laptops, unfortunately there are some models / serials numbers restricted during the assembly.

Follow the step-by-step guide below to resolve this issue:

Step 1: Uninstall the DisplayLink driver

Navigate to the Control Panel on your Windows laptop.
Click on “Programs and Features.”
Locate “DisplayLink Software” in the list of installed programs.
Click on it, then click “Uninstall” and follow the on-screen instructions to remove the driver.

Step 2: Use the Driver Cleaner Tool

Download the DisplayLink Driver Cleaner tool from this link (https://support.displaylink.com/knowledgebase/articles/724494-cannot-upgrade-or-uninstall-displaylink-software)
Run the tool and follow the procedure described on the previous link to clean any residual driver files from your system.
Reboot your system

Step 3: Reinstall DisplayLink driver version 10.3

Visit the DisplayLink driver download page.
Locate and download the legacy driver version 10.3
Run the installer and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation.

Step 4: Restart your device

After successfully reinstalling the DisplayLink driver version 10.3, restart your laptop or tablet.

Step 5: Plug in both USB cables simultaneously
Attention: Ensure that both cables are plugged in at the same time.

Connect the right-side USB cable to the main port of your laptop or tablet and connect the left-side USB cable to the USB port on your docking station or tablet charger (usually found on the charger itself).

Please note that the issue with DisplayLink driver error code 43 is related to the laptop or tablet manufacturer. Certain manufacturers may limit the bandwidth of some USB ports on specific models or serial number ranges. For example, the Portabl Slide may work perfectly with a single USB 2 or USB 3 cable on a Surface Pro 2017 but may require two cables on a 2022 version. By following the steps outlined in this guide, you should be able to resolve the issue and enjoy using your Portabl Slide.
